Nurturing Economic Alliances: A Call to Action from Namibia

Greetings, dear readers! I return from the 9th Session of the Heads of Mission Conference in Namibia, invigorated with a renewed sense of purpose. During this prestigious gathering, I had the honor of meeting with the visionary President of Namibia, Dr. Hage Gottfried Geingob.

The mission bestowed upon me is clear: to catalyze robust trade relations between Uganda and Namibia.

President Geingob, in his wisdom, emphasized the importance of fostering a partnership that goes beyond borders. In a personal encounter on the sidelines of the conference, he shared his vision of creating an economic bridge between our nations.

It is with great pride and responsibility that I take on the role of ensuring that the citizens of both Uganda and Namibia reap the rewards of this collaborative effort.

Namibia, a beacon of success in the agricultural sector, is poised to compete with European countries in the next five years.

The opportunities are immense, and I am dedicated to guiding Ugandan entrepreneurs into this promising landscape. The strength of Namibia's currency, the rand, adds to the appeal for our business community.

Starting next year, I am committed to leading Ugandan business persons on exploratory ventures to Namibia. The goal is clear: to unlock opportunities and build lasting connections.

The recent Heads of Mission Conference was a testament to the shared commitment of nations, and I am eager to translate this commitment into tangible economic gains.

Beyond the conference sessions, I had the privilege of visiting key Namibian institutions and organizations, including Namibia Desert Diamonds, Meat Corporation of Namibia, and Namibia Ports Authority.

These interactions further solidified my belief in the potential for collaboration between our nations.

As we embark on this journey of economic diplomacy, I invite Ugandan entrepreneurs to join hands with their Namibian counterparts.

Let's build bridges that span continents, fostering prosperity and development for our people. Together, we can create a future that knows no bounds. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this exciting chapter of collaboration and growth.

Best regards,

Godfrey Kirumira Honorary Consul of Namibia to Uganda
